My Top 5 Tips for Navigating Eclipse Season

[Eclipse energy is stirring change — are you ready to meet it with clarity? Book your Eclipse Season Check-In with me now]

Eclipse season is a time of accelerated growth and change, often marking big beginnings and endings in our lives personally and collectively.

Eclipses happen when there is a meeting together of a New or Full Moon with the nodes of the Moon, and when one celestial body (the Sun or the Moon) blocks light from the other.

This season the eclipses are happening in Pisces and Virgo, with a total lunar eclipse happening at 15 degrees of Pisces on September 7th and a solar eclipse happening at 29 degrees of Virgo on September 21st.

These eclipses are going to be bringing up themes of dreaming, spirituality, delusion, spiritual bypassing, perfectionism, self-criticism, and discernment. I’m personally keeping an eye on that solar eclipse in Virgo towards the end of the month because it is in a critical or final degree, which can often heighten the intensity.

There is inherently an energetic dance between dark and light during eclipses, and this is why they carry such potent charge for our inner worlds. We are affected by these changes in light, and it impacts our consciousness.

Many ancient cultures feared and revered eclipse seasons, and I have observed that eclipse seasons are fantastic times to dive deep into shadow work and deep healing, since this process will be activated anyway.

As anyone knows who has done deep inner healing work… it can be intense! True healing is not rainbows and butterflies, and growth is inherently uncomfortable.

You don’t have to fly by the seat of your pants in it all though. You can relate to growth, healing, and change from an empowered place, and that is exactly why I have assembled my 5 top tips for eclipse season— to help you do just that.

#1 Validate what you are stepping into.

Eclipse season is a season. It’s like stepping into winter.

You wouldn’t go into winter without getting the necessary clothing to navigate the weather, right?

Eclipse season is a season of heightened transformation, change, and growth.

If you walk into it validating that and expecting it to be more charged and electric… you won’t be as disoriented when your shit gets all stirred up and you are going through inner and outer changes!

Walk in knowingly. Prepare yourself accordingly.

#2 Plan for more down time.

Eclipses, especially lunar eclipses, can be deeply felt by our physical bodies.

Your physical body needs more rest during these seasons of growth.

It can be helpful to walk into it knowing that and organize your life around having more space as you are able to.

When you have more spaciousness in your schedule, you will be able to integrate and align more with what is shifting for you. Instead of feeling frazzled and like you have to keep up with the demands of your life WHILE going through deep, inner healing.

#3 Resource yourself with amusement. 😝

Amusement is your spiritual ability to be light-hearted and have humor, no matter the circumstance.

Amusement is one of my favorite spiritual tools because it can significantly change a situation and create more ease. Think about the last time you were in a sticky situation, and you were feeling super heavy and serious… and then someone cracked a joke that made you feel lighter. Amusement is not about making fun of or bypassing a situation with humor… it’s about bringing more light into the room so everyone can breathe.

Maybe you listen to more of your favorite comedian during eclipse season. Or you make it a point to laugh with a good friend.

Laughter goes a LONG way in healing and transformation work. Give yourself some extra amusement during eclipse season, and it will be like lubrication for your growth process.

#4 Don’t launch or start big projects.

Eclipse season is shadow work time!

It’s not a great time for launching or starting major projects.

Yes, our lives do go on during eclipse season (I am not saying put your life on pause), but recognize that if you do execute projects during this time, they will tend to bring out the shadows in everyone involved (ask me how I know 😅).

Eclipse energy is like live electricity. It’s unstable. If you start something in and around one of the eclipses, it will carry that live-wire kind of energy to it. Not the most sustainable or easy-going vibe to infuse something with.

That said: eclipse seasons do often mark big beginnings and endings in our lives. These have usually been building for a long time, though, if you really look at it. I often see eclipse energy as helping something come to completion, which inherently brings a new beginning. There isn’t any force or effort in this; it is more simply like the eclipses are helping to accelerate the process.

#5 Dive deep into your subconscious patterns.

This will likely already be heightened and happening without you putting any extra emphasis here, but like I’ve said, eclipse season is a GREAT time to let those subconscious patterns bubble to the surface to be transformed!

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself falling into old, unhelpful habits during eclipse season. Usually this is a pattern coming up to the surface to be witnessed and changed.

The process of changing our habits and patterns… is a process! The first step is always awareness. Can you be aware of what is happening? And then can you move into a state of validation and acceptance?

From there, you will be able to create and choose differently.

Get extra support and holding during eclipse season because this process of pattern interruption is often uncomfortable, messy, albeit profound.

[I have designed my Eclipse Season Check-In precisely with this in mind— a supportive blend of astrology insight and energy healing to hold you in your subconscious shadow work— only available for the month of September, book here!]

And finally…

Perhaps my BIGGEST piece of advice I can give to you about navigating eclipse season with more ease, amusement, and awareness has everything to do with how you are perceiving your shadow.

Are you perceiving your shadow as an enemy? That has to be slain?

Are you perceiving your shadow material (especially when you get triggered by something) like you are a victim to it? Like you have no control?

Learn to relate to your shadow or trigger like it’s fucking gold.

Like it’s there to serve you.

Like it holds the key to your deepest healing and empowerment. Because it does!

Practice leaning in to the trigger and the shadow material that is surfacing.

This is how you alchemize it. With curiosity. With permission. With wonder, even.

You can actually feel grateful for the stuff that triggers you, once you realize how much it is helping you grow and become more of yourself.

Your shadow deserves your gratitude and your awareness.

It’s always guiding you into deeper embodiment of your truth.

Well, friends! I hope this was helpful.
